Rehab - Plan for your hospital stay, your initial 1-2 weeks post-surgery and your gentle mobility program thereafter.
Long term – Healing doesn’t stop at the 6 week sign off appointment – it can take 1-2 years for soft tissues to heal and adapt. Scar tissue needs consideration, as does Pelvic Floor if it’s a gynae operation. As does the phycological impact.
Long term recovery is dependent on how well you’ve entered into surgery and what you do in the early phases whilst your body goes through the initial inflammatory stage and then into tissue rebuilding.
I am qualified in providing ‘Optimal Health Before and After Hysterectomy’ as part of my menopause qualification and as a movement teacher, I specialise in progressive and regressive mobility and strength programs.
On a personal level, I have been through multiple gynae surgeries. Including a total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy.
I can help you work you way through your up-and-coming surgery and come out the other side in the best possible way.
